The Swiss Bishops Conference, “upset by the flaring up of the conflict” which is affecting Israel and Lebanon, prays “that no more blood be shed” and “asks for a peaceful solution”. In a note published today, the Bishops urge “the Governments, the Churches and all the men of a right conscience to offer their contribution to reduce differences and work relentlessly at peace”. The Swiss Bishops Conference, reads the document, “shares the Pope’s concern and urges the believers to pray for peace in the Middle East. “The people who live” in those lands “are entitled to a just and durable peace”.
