Many Italians are interested in the Marian sanctuary of Lourdes: in May 2006 alone, 171,010 Italians logged on to the official website of the sanctuary (www.lourdes_france.org). The special website for the 150th anniversary of the apparitions is full of sections that help people understand the meaning of the event: living the jubilee year (which is going to start on December 8th 2008); getting to know Lourdes better in terms of location, history, the life of Saint Bernardette, what it is today, with the truth about the pilgrimages, and its fame all over the world. Other sections provide information about the jubilee (with forums, practical tips, answers to frequently asked questions).
