"Even if there are extremists, who are however very few, who are attacking me, also by slandering me (Christian propaganda, editor’s note), for some time I have been trying to spread as far as possible, starting from my parish of Our lady of the Sorrows, along with my very few parishioners, a climate of friendship with the Muslims of Samsun, with the city authorities, who have expressed their sympathy with me, and with the locals, many of whom are friends and with whom I get on very well. Everyone knows we are not doing anything wrong. A minority of extremists cannot jeopardise dialogue. Dialogue and friendship must go on".
