Card. Joachim Meisner, archbishop of Cologne, will take part in the yearly pilgrimage to the Marian sanctuary of Einsieldeln on July 17th, promoted by "Help the Church that suffers", an international Catholic agency that for over half a century has been working in supporting persecuted Christian all over the world (www.kirche-in-not.ch). After taking part in the debate on "Change in the universal church?”, which will open the day in the village of Einsieldeln in the morning, card. Meisner will celebrate High Mass with the pilgrims in the church of the local Benedictine Abbey in the early afternoon. Mass will be jointly celebrated by abbot Martin Werlen; the secretary general of the Swiss Bishops Conference, Agnell Rickenmann, and the vicar general of the diocese of Bâle, father Roland-B. Trauffer, and others.
