Many are the items on the agenda, including the quality of public services supplied by local bodies in Europe. "One session will be focussed – explains a note from the CoE – on the local and regional powers of South-Eastern Europe". Tomorrow, the Strasbourg premises will be the venue of a study day on poverty in Europe. "During the meeting – explain the promoters – many conferences and workshops will be organised about the central subjects of poverty threatening social relations". Finally, next week (18-19 May) the Palais de l’Europe will bring together the Committee of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, which will mark the end of the current Rumanian chairmanship of the Committee, which will be handed over to the Russian federation for the next six months.
