Putting an end to the sad phenomenon of the homeless is not a utopia. It is with this certainty that the representatives of the most important countries and associations working with the homeless will meet in Dundee on March 23rd. Gathered under the European acronym of Feantsa, which promoted the conference, they will discuss the most effective strategies to fight the phenomenon as well as social exclusion. In addition, the conference will compare the experiences and the methods used in different countries which tried to combine political will, financial resources and solidarity. Phillip Mangano, at the head of the task force for eradicating the chronic phenomenon of the homeless in the United States in the next ten years, and Malcom Chisholm, Minister of Communities of the Scotch Executive Committee who produced one of the most effective strategies to deal with the problem in Europe, are expected to take part in the conference. According to the promoters, the conference should be the starting point for a real, sympathetic cooperation between the countries and the associations that deal with this problem.
