” “"The risk that the rural world may be increasingly regarded as a lesser reality or even forgotten" must be warded off. This is the appeal made by mgr. Janusz Bolonek, Apostolic Nuncio to Uruguay, at the International Conference organised by FAO about the agricultural reform and rural development, which is taking place in Porto Alegre until March 10th. Mgr. Bolonek is at the head of the delegation of the Holy See that prepared a "Technical report" for the conference. In his speech, mgr. Bolonek meant to bring to the conference the voice and the "expectations of those small farmers, workers and families who permanently live and work in the rural world". Millions of people all over the world said the nuncio who ask for "proactive solutions, which will reorganise the working capabilities, the environment and the social side of the farming sector". The Nuncio spoke on behalf of "small farmers" and "landless" people.
