” “A new, "global action" in favour of the Holy Land, asking to settle the Israelo-Palestinian conflict. This is the proposal of the World Council of the Churches (Wcc) with "International church action for peace in Palestine and Israel" which will be held in Jerusalem from 12th to 19th March. In support of the initiative, the patriarchs and the leaders of the churches of Jerusalem sent a message "to the Christians of the world". The message asks for "a just peace to stop the suffering of the Palestinians and Israelis, to be achieved through negotiations under the aegis of the international law. The first step is to put an end to the Israeli illegal occupation. Peace, justice amd security for Palestinians will bring peace, justice and security for Israelis too. Let’s keep praying for Jeriusalem and insisting that an open, shared city which respects the rights and sovereignty of the three religions and the two peoples is essential for a just peace in the Middle East".
