” “The plenary assembly of the Spanish Bishops Conference passed a new pastoral instruction on the current situation of the Iberian country. The document has an introduction, three chapters and one conclusion. The chapters are about "the wave of laicism", the "responsibility of the Church and Christians" and "judgement and moral guidance". The Bishops urge people to "overcome hopelessness" and linger on the need to "announce the great yes of God to humankind in Christ". The Bishops would like to see "the Catholic identity getting stronger" to be able to accomplish "any act in society" and recommend the Catholics to "live social love" for the "moral bracing of public life". In addition, the Bishops review the relations between the "Church and the state", "democracy and morality" and put much effort in reviewing such situations as "the respect and protection of religious freedom", "terrorism", "nationalisms and their moral needs" and the "practice of charity". The text of the pastoral will be publicly disclosed on the next few days.” “
