” “"Faith is a priority of our time" and "the evangelical message" is "more relevant than ever and ever-new”. This was said by Benedict XVI in his speech to the Swiss Bishops he received in audience, the text of which has been published today by the Newsroom of the Holy See. Last night the Vatican Newsroom had specified that the Pope’s speech to the Swiss Bishops, published also yesterday on its own bulletin and relayed by several agencies, "has not been uttered". The one given to the press was a text that "reflected the content of a draft which had been prepared beforehand for the Visit ad Limina of the Swiss Bishops in 2005". "Christianity”, added Benedict XVI in his speech published today, "is all that is said by the profession of faith and that enables us to make God’s face visible. He is and lives, we believe in Him, with Him and for Him, and in Jesus Christ He is physically present with us. This centrality of God must be reflected by all of our thoughts and by all of our actions". Actions that "are strengthened" by our communion of faith with the Church. Then, Benedict XVI invited the Swiss Bishops to be "alive with the Church, in which the Lord works".
