” “According to Card. Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, deputy president of Ccee, "it seems quite clear that there must be a definitely closer relationship between Ccee and Comece", by more effectively coordinating work, "so as to avoid any type of duplication". As he expressed "his dream for the Church in Europe", the cardinal highlighted that "a reorganisation of Ccee and Comece would be beneficial to the bishops all of countries of Europe". According to the cardinal, it is important "that a common voice be clearly heard" on such topics as "the relationship with Islam"; as well as the "phenomenon of migration and immigration" and "issues that concern the type of Europe that is emerging right now", such as the issues of ecumenical commitment and family life. "It is also clear for me that the organisations of Comece and Ccee – added card. Murphy-O’Connor – should be beneficial to several countries in Europe". (to be continued)” “
