” “”Living in a new energy era” is the subject of the Sixth Assembly of the European Christian Environmental Network (ECEN) scheduled in Flämslätt (Sweden) from next 27 September to 1 October. About one hundred delegates, activists and guests from all over Europe will meet to elaborate the answers of the Christians and of the European Churches to the growing energy shortage, the limited resources of fossil combustibles and the need for renewable resources. The problem of the efficacious management of energy will also be tackled. The assembly is an opportunity for different countries to exchange experiences and good practice. Subjects such as climatic change, water emergency, theology of creation, and environmental education will also be tackled during the meeting. A special analysis is also scheduled: “The Time of the Creation”, a particular period within the liturgical calendar of the Churches. Special attention will be paid to man’s responsibility with respect to creation itself. The Flämslätt meeting is part of the preparation path for the Third European Ecumenical Assembly (EEA3), scheduled in Sibiu (Romania) from 4 to 9 September 2007.
