Either "illusionists", that is, "creators of a fantastic but inexistent world", or "educators", that is, men and women "interested in letting common people know what’s going on, about daily life and the way in which it flows". According to the diocese of Modena, that is the alternative which today’s journalists have to face. Next Saturday, 14 April, the "Journalist Easter" is scheduled exactly about the subject "Communicators or Illusionists: the Challenge of Reason". This initiative links the Easter anniversary with a proposal by the press of Modena, including journalists from Emilia Romagna. Before the media’s general trend "to spread bad news", marginalizing "the positive aspects of society" said the promoters, "it is time to extract good news from events, from the daily lives of the people. And it is time to emphasize what lasts, creates connections, welcomes men, defends life, and promotes the family". "In all the fields of society, it is possible to find out good news and spread them", it is written in a note, in which they invite the people "to start over from reason", starting from "education responsibility". On Saturday, the moderator is going to be Massimo Malagoli, UCSI vice president of Emilia Romagna; among others, the archbishop of Modena-Nonantola, Msgr. Benito Cocchi, will also speak.
