In the afternoon, at the Academy of Kiyevo-Mogilanska one of the oldest Orthodox universities in Ukraine, now owned by the State , the cardinal received an honorary postgraduate degree. On that occasion, the cardinal held a lecture called "The Church on the way to full communion". On Saturday 8th December, the cardinal blessed the "Ecumenical Centre of Saint Clemens: communion and dialogue of cultures", a research centre the establishment of which was blessed by card. Husar and by His Beatitude the metropolitan bishop Vladimir , composed of Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and atheistic scholars, in order to contribute to the unity of the Churches. In the afternoon, the cardinal presented the translation into Ukrainian of his book, "Vademecum di spiritualità ecumenica" (A guide to ecumenical spirituality) and attended the celebration of the XV anniversary of the Theological Institute of Saint Thomas Aquinas, run by the Dominican Friars.
