"Not leaving alone the Christians of the Holy Land is a responsibility that we cannot fail to take on. There are many ways to express this sympathy, for instance the pilgrimages, and I think the Fiac project for a cooperation with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the area of communication may be extremely meaningful". These are the words of Crescenzio Sepe, archbishop of Naples, as he opened, in Naples this morning, the one-day workshop on the Holy Land, promoted by Federazione italiana settimanali cattolici (Fisc Italian Federation of Catholic Weeklies). The initiative, explained father Giorgio Zucchelli, president of Fisc, is part of the Catholic weeklies’ commitment, in cooperation with the agency SIR, to "tell what is going on in Israel and in the Palestinian Territories so as to show these are not just places of war, but also places that experience dialogue, peace and hope". In this sense, added Francesco Zanotti, deputy president of Fisc, "we intend to become the promoters of a properly-informed public opinion on the Holy Land". The project aims at supporting the pastoral of social communication of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem by providing technology and human resources. In the light of this, adds Zucchelli, "we will host in our editorial offices young people, seminarians and media operators of the Holy Land".
