The agreement signed in Brussels for the protection of children who use cellphones "responds according to the EU Commission to many of the concerns that had been aroused by the public consultation on mobile phones", conducted last October and published today. Such survey found, as well as the advantages of using cellphones, "special risks, especially for the younger ones, such as bullying, the attempted enticement of children under age for sexual abuse, access to illegal or pornographic materials and violent contents, risks for private life, due in particular to an inappropriate use of phones with cameras and services based on user location". The consultation also showed that "the responsibility for a safe use of cellphones should be shared by the children’s parents or custodians, the mobile phone operators, the service suppliers and the public authorities".
