BENEDICT XVI: TO THE BLOOD DONORS AND THE SOCIO-RELIGIOUS INFORMATION AND RESEARCH GROUP

After greeting the numerous pilgrims coming from different parts in the world, at the end of the catechesis, Benedict XVI addressed believers in Italian. "Your presence in the national territory promoted the values of life, gratuitousness and solidarity in these years", he said to the representatives of “Sangue”, an association of Italian volunteers, recalling the 80th anniversary from its establishment. The Pope encouraged them to continue "this important service of yours to the neighbour". Moreover, addressing the representatives of GRIS, he said: "I also greet you, dear members of the Socio-Religious Information and Research Group – said the Pope, – and I congratulate you for your ecclesial commitment, meant to show the Christians the dangers connected with the diffusion of sects and alternative religious movements". Benedict XVI thought also about the young, in particular, about those who are going to tackle examinations: "May the Lord help you to live this period with serenity – he hoped, – and to experiment His protection".
