Therefore, here is Benedict XVI’s hope: "we wish the efforts of those who work to pursue these three objectives with determination will be successful, with the aim of using ‘the resources, thus saved, in development projects to the advantage of all the people, and first of all, of the poorest’", as written in the Message for the World Peace Day 2006. "It is actually good to say once again pointed out the Pope, – on this occasion, too, that ‘the arms race must be replaced with a common effort to mobilize resources for moral, cultural and economic development objectives, redefining priorities and value scales’", as pointed out in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. "Again, we entrust our prayer for peace to the intercession of the Holy Mary concluded the Holy Father, – and in particular, we pray for scientific and technical knowledge to be always applied with sense of responsibility for the common good, in full respect of international law.
