CHRISTIAN FAMILIES: WORLD ASSEMBLY IN FATIMA FROM TODAY

The 10th World Assembly/14th General Assembly of the International Confederation of Christian Family Movements (ICCFM) opened in Fatima today, and will go on until July 29th, at the Paul VI Pastoral Centre. The Assembly was established in Venezuela, in 1966, with the aim of helping the family to live its human and Christian vocation, witnessing its essential values, by following the teachings of the Gospel and of the doctrine of the Church. The meeting will hinge on the subject "The heritage of Fatima in favour of the family – spirituality and sacrifice". Priests, bishops, families and family operators coming from Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Slovakia, Spain, Philippines, Guatemala, Holland, Honduras, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Malta, Mexico, Panama, Peru, São Tomé, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States, and Venezuela will take part in the meeting. ICCFM has actually got numerous affiliations in five continents, and a total of 92 thousand registered families, 3900 of which from Europe and about 80 thousand from Latin America. The family currently entrusted with the presidency is made up of Elma and Nop Muangkroot, from Bangkok.
