14 French Christian associations including Catholic Action, Protestant Federation, and Justice and Peace have launched a campaign to invite the citizens to use transport other than cars when going to their holiday destinations or during the summer. "Blessed are those who travel otherwise, because they will leave a liveable planet". This is the slogan written on a poster, showing a snail huge in the background. The campaign praises slowness as the best way to save energy. This is followed by a few tips about "environment-friendly transport" written in the style of the Beatitudes: "Blessed are those who take the train to go on holiday and share transport or go by bicycle. Blessed are those who, to cover 500 metres, would rather walk than ride a motorbike. Blessed are those who waste their time contemplating nature". These tips invite the citizens to move "at reasonable speed", "not to use air conditioning on a regular basis" and "accept hitchhikers". "In France states a note fuel consumption generates 35% of Co2 emission, which are responsible for the rise in the greenhouse effect".
