” “"Raising the awareness of our identity as Catholic believers, as the grateful and obedient children of the Church Our Mother, at a time in which the creeping temptation of relativism works its way through so many places". These are the words of mgr. Bruno Forte, archbishop of Chieti-Vasto and president of the Bishops Council (Cei) for the Doctrine of the Faith, as he explains, in an interview with SIR, the "value" of the document of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, "Answers to questions on some aspects of the doctrine of the Church", published on July 10th by the Vatican Newsroom. "The raising of the awareness of our identity", adds mgr. Forte, "is to be experienced however with great equanimity: it does not mean asserting one’s identity against someone, but raising such awareness to live our mission better at the service of the Gospel and thus love everyone". Mgr. Forte highlighted that the document is "not new in its contents but in its perspective: which is the perspective of the new evangelisation on the horizon of the global village and the challenges of justice, peace, the urgency to testify with serene determination the horizons of meaning and the reasons for hope that come from our faith as the disciples of Christ in His Church, the communion of which is the true gospel, vis-à-vis the solitudes that are so widespread in the societies of the so-called post-modern age".
