400 boys and girls, volunteers, social workers and delegates of local and governmental agencies met in the last few days in the Counselling Centre of Caritas in the old centre of Jerusalem (Occc) to celebrate the World Day against Drugs. The news was given in a release by Caritas of Jerusalem. For a long time, the Catholic agency has been engaged in a campaign against drugs and for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, a problem which is on the rise, especially among the new generations of Palestine. According to Caritas, the meeting focussed on "the need to join forces to face this plague and invest in rehabilitation measures and treatments" and asked the government delegates "to start coordinating the workers who deal with rehabilitation and with the fight against drugs, starting from the schools". At the end of the Day, the Occc manager, Charlie Jabaji, awarded diplomas to those who had completed their training for group activities.
