"Violence and destruction have often come out of Europe. Let’s just mention the two world wars and the Shoah. There would be no salvation for history, if sins could not be forgiven". This was said this morning by sister Anna-Maria aus der Wiesche, from the Fraternity of Christ of Selbitz (an offspring of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) as she spoke at the "Walking together" Congress that is promoted by 250 Christian movements and communities and that will last until tomorrow in Stuttgart. About the Shoah, sister Anna-Maria aus der Wiesche said: "the sacrifice of the Lamb goes into the deepest darkness of European history". According to sister aus der Wiesche, "the Christian movements and communities are entrusted with communal life, even if it takes different forms, depending on different tasks". The life of the movements, she then added, is like "one cell of the love in which one learns to forgive. Some communities have the core of their spirituality in this. They open their homes to those who are searching or bear the wounds, so that they can partake of the communal life and find their cure". Delegates from several Christian movements and communities will speak of their experiences today, while last night the participants got to know each other and prayed together.
