"In Europe, extremely relevant phenomena can be noticed when facing the different cases of social or civil malaise, because the proposed solutions to the problems, such as the respect of religious freedom, the fair enforcement of the community rules, the birth rate, the relativisation of marriage and gender difference, seem to show some moral drift. This is compounded, on a more ecclesial plane, by the heavy task of looking for a correct ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue, by now widespread on the soil of Europe". This was the finding of the seventh meeting of the Special Council for Europe of the General Secretariat of the Episcopal Synod. "The meeting states a note relayed today by the General Secretariat through the Vatican Newsroom took place on April 23rd. This time, the members of the Cabinet of the European Bishops Conferences (Ccee) joined the council members", in Rome for a meeting with Benedict XVI: "Through the experience they have gained within the Ccee, they broadened the discussion about the pastoral in Europe, giving a boost to the sharing of the malaises and the aspirations of the different particular Churches".
