Mentioning Benedict XVI’s words in audience with the congressmen, the four young Italians highlight that "the oblivion of one’s roots and the attempt to ‘politically’ ignore the living tradition which is relentlessly operating within Christianity, that is an essential element of the European identity, is not a symptom of tolerance but an expression of ethical indifference". Politics, they add, "is in charge of recognising a non-negotiable historical, cultural, anthropological and moral truth". It is urgent to recognise "the truth on man that Christ revealed to man by revealing Himself". (to be continued)
