” “"Young Serbians want to leave their homeland", while we see the rise of "an unprecedented ethnocentrism so that about one half of them do not want to marry people from different ethnic groups". It was revealed by Daniel Galun, a consultant to Caritas Serbia-Montenegro, as he met in Belgrade the delegation of the CEI (National service for the youth pastoral and Office for Cooperation between the Churches) and Centro Giovanni Paolo II of Loreto, on a tour of the Balkans to promote the "Agora of the youth of the Mediterranean". A situation which, according to Vladimir Varga, a priest of the Greek_Catholic exarchate and the director of Caritas Serbia-Montenegro, shows "how important it is for young Catholics to know their own culture and the roots of faith, so that they can relate to Orthodox people without fear". "Their fear and narrow-mindedness – he concluded – are the fruits of ignorance".” “
