” “Benedict XVI’s second encyclical is divided into 80 sections, within eight major sections. The "Introduction" is followed by the "Faith is hope" section, written in a scriptural style, which also speaks of Saint Bakhita, a living example of Christian "hope". The following section is named "The concept of faith-based hope in the New Testament and in the primitive Church": it mentions Saint Gregory from Natiantius, Saint Thomas Aquinas and Luther. In the "Eternal life – what is it?" section, Benedict XVI addresses the subject of afterlife, while in the following one, "Is Christian hope individualistic?", he speaks of such theologians as Henri de Lubac or such mystics as Saint Augustine, Bernardo di Chiaravalle and Benedict. The "The transformation of the Christian faith-hope in the modern time" section speaks of Bacon, Kant, Engels, Marx, about the relation between faith and reason. Then, "The true physiognomy of the Christian hope" mentions Lenin, Marx again, Adorno, while "«Places» of learning and practice of hope" speaks of prayer, with reference also to cardinal Van Thuan, the philosopher Horkheimer, Dostoevskij and Plato.
