SIR EUROPA: SPAIN, A MEETING ON RELIGIOUS HUMOUR "AS A MEANS TO OVERCOME PREJUDICE"

"A Catholic, a Jew, a Muslim…" This is how many religious jokes begin. In Barcelona tonight it will be precisely one Catholic, one Jew, one Muslim and people from other religions who will put themselves to the test in a sort of contest of short and funny stories, just to see how religious humour can be "a means to improve cohabitation". Expectations and curiosity are high about the campaign that is part of a cycle of round tables in the Discalced Carmelites hall of the Via Diagonal in Barcelona. The speakers, Antonio Deulofeu, parish priest of San Llorenç de Terrassa, Halil Bàrcena, director of the Sufi Studies School of Barcelona, Bhakti Das, president of the Vedanta Sivananda Yoga Centre, and Jorge Burdman, from the Israelite community of Barcelona, will try to "see together how religious jokes and funny stories can help not eradicate, but overcome prejudice".
