As to Italy and the security issue, mgr. Robu states: "I think the decision has been made already. There are Rumanians who have been expelled". And then he adds a suggestion: "Under no circumstances must decisions be taken on the spur of the moment. Here in Romania people say this accident has been politically exploited for electoral propaganda. It don’t know if it’s true. But if it is, it is not a credit to those who do such manoeuvring, because things must be clear, and exploiting a crime for political purposes is not a credit to anyone. Actually, it’s quite the opposite". The interview ends with a wish: "it would be a pity to make the established friendship that binds our peoples disappear. It was built over time. We have got to know each other better. Now we have also found out that we can commit big mistakes, but that’s not a reason to destroy the friendship that binds us. And then we must not forget that, while the measure of justice is appreciated above all when someone has committed a crime, there is a measure of charity as well. I hope things will be prudently made right. I think this moment of tension will pass. I hope it passes soon and without causing any incurable wound".
