"Whoever uses God’s name to hate others, to commit violence, to wage war, they blaspheme God’s name": this is written in the appeal for peace that, after one minute’s silence, was read in Naples (Italy) last night, at the end of the "Men and Religions" Meeting, promoted by the archdiocese and by Comunità di Sant’Egidio. "There’s a disease that pollutes everything, and it’s called violence. Violence is the dark daily companion of too many men and women of our planet", state in the document the participants in the meeting, members of different religions, who repeat through the words of Benedict XVI: "By invoking God’s name, one can never justify evil and violence". "To those who still kill, spread terrorism and wage war in God’s name, we repeat: Stop! Don’t kill! Violence is always a defeat for everyone". "By getting into the depth of our religious traditions goes on the appeal , we have rediscovered how, without dialogue, there is no hope and one is doomed to fear others. Dialogue is not the delusion of the weak, but the wisdom of the strong, who know how to confide in the weak strength of prayer". "Dialogue does not weaken anyone’s identity, but drives everyone to see the best of the others"; nothing "is ever lost with dialogue, everything is possible" through it. (continued)
