With great clarity, history shows that majorities may be wrong". Then Benedict XVI added: “When the fundamental needs of the dignity of the human person, of his life and the family institution, and of fairness in the social order are at stake, that is, the fundamental rights of man, no law made by man can subvert the rule written by the Creator in the heart of man, without the society itself being dramatically hit in what represents its indefeasible basis".
