September 27th might be an important date to save the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Bucharest, a historical and architectural monument endangered by the "illegal building" of a huge skyscraper, with 20 storeys and 4 underground floors. On September 27th, the Strasbourg-based European Parliament will pass its opinion on the written declaration "about the need to take measures to protect the cathedral", for which 371 signatures have already been collected from the MEPs. Twenty more, and it will be passed. The declaration "firmly condemns the illegal building of such skyscraper" and the commitment is undertaken to send the document to the EU Commission, the European Council, the Rumanian Government and the authorities in charge of the protection of the European cultural heritage.
