SIR EUROPE: BULGARIA, A SOCIAL COMMUNICATION COURSE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN SOFIA

A social communication course for the young people in the diocese of Sofia-Plovdiv (Bulgaria), set up by Father Cristoforo Kujok, Capuchin, founder and director of Radio Tau, the only radio experience of the Catholic Church in Bulgaria through the Internet: it is being held on September 15th and 16th by Fabrizio Mastrofini, SEDOC (Documentation Service Communication) and CTV (Vatican TV Service) editor, and Dimitri Gantchev, in charge of the Bulgarian programme of Radio Vaticana. The course idea was born after the contacts with Radio Vaticana, following the journey of John Paul II to Bulgaria, in 2002, and the world meeting of the Bulgarian press, in Rome and the Vatican, taking place in the month of May. During the course, they will talk about the social communication doctrine of the Church, and the subjects concerning the form and the contents of radio and Internet communication will be examined. Still in relation to the contacts between Radio Vaticana and Bulgaria, on September 18th, in Sofia, Fabrizio Mastrofini is holding a public lecture on the subject: "Balkans, Crossroad of Europe. The Role of the Church". On that occasion, his book, "Geopolitics of the Catholic Church", will be presented.
