Inter-religious dialogue, the challenge of migration, Europe. These are the subjects of the three forums that in some points across the city have engaged this afternoon the 2,500 delegates of the Third European Ecumenical Assembly. The Forum on religions spoke of "the way religions can contribute to the future and to a new view of Europe as a continent based on mutual respect, reconciliation, and fair and peaceful cooperation". Speeches have also been given by Jewish and Muslim delegates: rabbi Zinoviy Kogan (Russia) and Mufti Iusuf Muurat of Romania. The Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Sibiu hosted the forum on migration, which compared several experiences of how migratory flows change the face of the Churches in Europe: George Joseph of the Sweden Caritas spoke of the way the presence of Catholics in the northern countries has changed and has increased, partly because of migrations from southern Europe, and a delegate of the Federation of the Protestant Churches in Italy told of how immigration from the south of the world has caused an increase in the number of Protestants in our country.
