BIBLE: RESEARCH BY THE HOLY SEE ON 8 EUROPEAN AND US COUNTRIES; A POORLY READ BUT "INTERESTING" BOOK (2)

” “The Bible is only moderately used for praying ("a much more widespread habit than one would generally think", highlights the surveys), compared with the role the Scriptures should play. The United States are the best case, with 37% of respondents using the Scriptures for their prayers. This figure is high in Poland as well (32%) but it drops to 13% in Germany, 9% in Italy and to as little as 6% in Spain. The vast majority of respondents have one copy of the Bible at home. The only exception is France where less than 50% of respondents have one copy of the Bible at home. France is also the only country in which most people think the Biblical book should not be studied at school. In addition, the survey shows that those who consider the Biblical text "true" prevail over those who consider it "false", as well as those who consider it "interesting" (the rate never falls below (75%) prevail over those who consider it "boring". In addition, it turns out that, confronted with the Biblical message, the majority of respondents feel they are in front of a book that is difficult to read and understand (the rate is around 65% in Europe).
