SPAIN: VALENCIA, MESSAGES FOR HUMAN VALUES IN DISCOS

” “A "pioneer initiative in Europe to promote human values by screening audiovisual messages" in "light" discos, targeted to people under 18 and during concerts or other places in which the young spend their spare time: this is promoted in April by a group of educationalists from Valencia (Spain). The plan of the educationalist and family mediator Mar Sánchez Marchori will begin on 17th April in the "Mirror" disco of Valencia, which currently attracts three thousand young people aged 14 to 17 a week. This is a first pilot experience, which will be translated into several audiovisual activities: as well as screening messages, posters will be handed out and competitions will be held. According to Sánchez Marchori, "to promote the culture of non-violence, we have to combine different actions, developed in different spheres, such as schools, parish churches, families and even spare time, music". The plan involves the dissemination of human values and non-violence in discos and other places of leisure as well as such subjects as healthy eating, solidarity and respect.
