At the end of yesterday’s Regina Coeli, the Pope entrusted to Mary his forthcoming apostolic journey to the United States and to the UN Headquarters, his eighth journey outside Italy, starting tomorrow. “Dear brothers and sisters said Benedict XVI , let’s invoke Mary’s maternal presence on the many callings that exist within the Church, that they may grow with a deep missionary imprint. I entrust to Her, Mother of the Church and Queen of Peace added the Holy Father , the special missionary experience that I will live in the next few days through my apostolic journey to the United States of America and my visit to the UN, while I ask all of you to be by my side with your prayers”. Then, as he greeted the English-speaking pilgrims, Benedict XVI added: “Next Tuesday, I will leave Rome for the my visit to the United Nations Organisation and to the United States of America. With the groups I will meet, I intend to share the Lord’s life-giving Word”. Then, mentioning the motto of the journey, the Pope went on: “In Christ is our hope! Christ is the foundation of our hope for peace, for justice, and for the freedom that comes from the Law of God, as accomplished in His commandment to love each other. Dear brothers and sisters asked the Holy Father , I ask all of you to pray for the success of my visit, so that it can be an opportunity of spiritual renewal for all Americans”.
