"A surprise and an honour". This are the words of Javier María Pérez-Roldán y Suanzes, president of the Centre for Juridical Studies Tomás Moro, at the news that the "Pope’s Message" magazine decided to give the "Duc in altum" award to this institution, the mission of which is the defence of human rights and natural law. In the awards ceremony, tomorrow 10th April, in the Council Seminary of Madrid, in the presence of card. Rouco Maria Varela, Pérez-Roldán y Suanzes will be given the award along with the Spanish Forum for the Family and the Youth Delegation of the Archbishopric of Madrid. The award is given to people who work "to assist the ministerial work of the Holy Father in the defence of the family and life, in the new evangelisation, in the care for callings and other activities in the life of the Church". "We are small and young (as we were born in 2004), but we want to fight for the defence of fair laws, to go against morally unfair laws, such as the law on abortion, and to promote conscientious objection against Education to Citizenship", a very lay compulsory school subject, explains Pérez-Roldán y Suanzes to SIR.
