There are some news in the campaign that the Spanish Bishops Conference has launched this April for the support of the Church. Firstly, to encourage the congregation to sign in, in their Tax Return forms, for allocating funds to the Church, the web page www.portantos.es, which deals with the scheme for the financial support of the Church, will be renewed. The website contains all explanations about how to support the Church through one’s tax return forms. The website also contains testimonials from people who devote their lives to working for the Catholic Church. Secondly, 600,000 copies of a new booklet called "Xtantos", with 20 pages of news, articles, interviews and reports on the financial support of the Church, will be sent to the parish churches of the Spanish dioceses. The campaign seems particularly important, since from this year the financial support of the Church will only depend on the Catholics and on those people who appreciate the work of the Church. A few statistics: the Church takes care of 1,400,000 children who attend its educational centres, over 200,000 immigrants who use their services and centres, the convicts of 77 Spanish prisons, over 25,000 orphans, over 57,000 elderly people. 8 million Catholics go to Mass every Sunday.
