EXPO 2015: CICCONE (DIOCESE OF MILAN), "JOINING EFFORTS TO BE CREATIVE" (2)

Father Ciccone went on with his reflection on the EXPO by recalling that "for a long time, Archbishop Dionigi Tettamanzi has been emphasizing the themes of great interest for the Christian community and for the whole society, such as family, work, and home. Well, the stage for the preparation of the Exhibition, by generating investments, by multiplying working sites, and by arousing economic opportunities, should induce believers to seriously debate the subject of common good and its application nowadays". The man in charge of the social pastoral of the Milan Curia pointed out: "It won’t be enough to build towers for offices and exhibition floors; it will be necessary to build houses for the people. It won’t be enough to talk about business and capitals, but it will be necessary to create steady jobs. And then, it will be necessary to stimulate a great deal of cultural and professional energies. In this way, after 2015, the EXPO won’t be recalled just as exhibition, but as remarkable fact in the history of the city and the country, with positive feedback". Finally, a remark about the EXPO subject: "After all, it concerns the fundamental problem of dignity of man and peoples, the skills to build, to advance. It is a subject which should be debated with higher courage in our communities, giving it the right cultural and political value".
