Piero Bassetti, entrepreneur, first president of the Lombardy Region, is president of the Globus et Locus Association today. He commented the assignment of the 2015 Exhibition to his city for SIR. "We have a very good opportunity to study and prepare a strategy paving the way for a new presence of Milan in the world scenario. Milan is a glocal city, by now: its urban dimension is not simply in touch with the surroundings, the region or even Italy. Milan looks at the world and acts on that level. It is clear that it is necessary to be up to this challenge, the same one which the main world metropolises have to face today". Apart from this topic, "with pedagogic content", EXPO deals with another subject, the one assigned to the event: "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life". "It is not just a matter of foodstuff trading, of mozzarella or Italian production said Bassetti -.
