The commitment of the European Union to protecting human rights in the world and in particular to defending women from any discrimination. The tenth Forum between the EU and Non-Governmental Organisations, which is taking place in Paris (10 and 11 December), to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration, aims to "produce new recommendations for strengthening the Union’s foreign policy on human rights". The meeting will be attended by 95 NGO delegates from all over the world, 27 delegates from the EU member states, and 28 from international organisations, including the UN. Workgroups will include: the first one will be on "the enforcement of the future EU’s guidelines on violence against women"; the second one will be about "the realisation of the situation, role and actions of women, the defenders of man’s rights"; finally, the third workgroup will be named "from law to practice some examples to follow in the fight against discrimination", which includes the collection of good practices to address "such issues as the reform of family law, the reform of land law, and the accomplishment of economic, social and cultural rights".
