From 15th to 17th December, the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris will host the "Third World Congress of Imams and Rabbis for Peace" which this year will be focussed on "Israel-Palestine, the Sacredness of Peace". This congress states a press release issued today is promoted by the Swiss Foundation "Hommes de Parole", founded in 2001 by Alain Michel. The Paris congress (the third one, after the one in Brussels in 2005 and the one in Seville in 2006) has been proposed by the imams and rabbis of the Middle East and will bring together approximately 85 leaders from 21 countries across the world, 30 of them coming from Israel and Palestine. Christians of the Holy Land are expected to attend the congress as well. All participants states the release share the "same goal: Peace in the Middle East". "They know writes Alain Michel that the time has come to make their voices heard" and that "every effort made towards peace will be thwarted by the extremists, unless they condemn and de-legitimise, now and once and for all, every deed of violence that is committed in the name of God".
