The EU’s employment policies will be the focus of the workshop about "Flexicurity in terms of values", due on 28th February at the European Commission, in Brussels, jointly promoted by the EU Commission, the Conference of European Churches (Kek) and the secretariat of the Commission of European Bishops Conferences (Comece). "The Churches in Europe states a release are worried about the increasing segmentation of the employment market, the increasing uncertainty of work, and the marginalisation of such categories as long-term unemployed people, unskilled people, immigrants". The European Commission, go on the Churches, "has recently launched a modernisation of their employment policies, based on the combination of the concepts of security and flexibility", and it is precisely the so-called "flexicurity" that will be the focus of the discussion, as it will be reviewed "in terms of values", with the contribution of "the experiences of the Churches and the related organisations proactively working in the supply of social services, lifelong learning and the support of employment". The participants in the workshop will include the MEPs Ján Figel and Vladimir pidla, and mgr. Ludwig Schwarz, bishop of Linz (Austria).
