IRELAND: A SITE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TO PREPARE PAIRS FOR MARRIAGE

A site to help pairs to prepare themselves for marriage, leading them to the altar step by step: the idea is by the Irish Catholic Church and is presented today, a few days before the feast of St. Valentine, during a press conference at the Carmelite Monastery in Whitefriar Street, Dublin, which includes the remains of St. Valentine. Msgr. Willie Walsh, the bishop in charge of Accord, will take part in the press conference. Accord is the agency of the Irish Church in charge with the family and wedding pastoral. The site is rich and full of images, and one can easily surf it. It examines every aspect of the ceremony and every stage of the preparation. Several windows dedicated to various expirations, eighteenth months, twelve months, nine months, three months, the very day, remind pairs of the various appointments: the choice of the Church, contact with the priest, the music, libretto preparation, church decoration, and the photographer. The site takes care of both the practical aspects of the great day and more important questions. The practical aspects are accurately analyzed; for instance, they suggest where the music has to be used, and what music. As for the more important aspects, the meanings of marrying in a church or of marriage itself are taken into consideration. Thus, the spouses have the opportunity to recall the reasons for their gesture until the day before, without being absorbed by preparations.
