EU PARLIAMENT: CHARLEMAGNE AWARD FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

The European Parliament, in conjunction with the Charlemagne International Award Foundation of Aachen, will promote from this year a competition for young people aged 16 to 30. The "young version" of the historical award "will be given to projects that promote Europe-wide and worldwide understanding and knowledge, giving priority to the development of a common feeling of European identity and integration". "Is Europe your passion? – write the promoters – Are you working at projects involving the EU, especially its integration process and its identity? Then, waste no time, send your entry" to the EU Parliament before 8th February. As well as age, "a prerequisite for entering the competition is to be a citizen or resident of one of the 27 EU member states". Entries can be sent in any official EU language; the project must have been already started. The three winners, whom will be selected by a special jury and will be invited to the EU Parliament HQ in May, will win 5 thousand, 3 thousand and 2 thousand euros, respectively. The official awards ceremony will be held on 29th April in Aachen. Info: www.e-adagio.eu/CYP/CYPintro_it.html.
