Since its very first appearance, "the light of Christ has started to attract the men ‘whom God loves’, of every language, people or culture. It is the force of the Holy Spirit that moves the hearts and the minds in the quest for the truth, for beauty, for justice, for peace". It was said yesterday morning by Benedict XVI, before he introduced the Angelus prayer, on the day of Epiphany. "The men and women of every generation, in this pilgrimage of theirs, needs to be guided: so what star can they follow?", asked the Pope, who went on: "After resting ‘onto the place where the child was’, the star, which had guided the Three Wise Men, had completed its work, but its spiritual light is always present in the word of the Gospel, which can still guide every man to Jesus". The Church too, he added, "serves for mankind the mission of the star. But the same can be said of every Christian, called to brighten with the word and testimony of life the steps of his brothers. How important it is than for us Christians to be faithful to our own calling!". (continued)
