"The Christmas season, by submitting to our contemplation, once again, the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, shows us went on Benedict XVI the infinite goodness of God, who, by becoming a Child, wanted to meet the poverty and loneliness of man; He accepted to live amidst us, sharing our daily difficulties; He did not hesitate to carry with us the burden of life, with its stresses and worries". In other words, "He was born for us, to stay with us and to offer to anyone who opens to Him the door to his heart the gift of His joy, of His peace, of His love". In fact, commented the Pope, "by being born in a grotto, because there was no room for Him anywhere else, Jesus experienced the difficulties that many of you go through. Christmas helps us understand that God never forsakes us and always comes towards us, protects us and is worried about each one of us, because everyone, especially the smallest and most defenceless ones, is precious to His eyes of a Father full of tenderness and love".
