"The challenges of communication for the Church in Europe today". This is the focal subject of the meeting of the spokespersons and press officers of the European Bishops Conferences, due to take place in Rome this year, at the headquarters of the Italian Bishops Conference, from June 11th to 14th. The meeting, which will be opened by mgr. Jean-Michel di Falco, president of Ceem (Commission of European Bishops Conferences for the Media), intends to "see what type of media coverage the Church receives" and learn more about "the way public opinion is built". With the help of experts and exchanges of experiences, the meeting will discuss the phenomena of migration and inter-religious dialogue and their relations with the media. Meetings will also be held with mgr. Claudio Maria Celli, president of the Papal Council for Social Communication, and with father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican newsroom.
