On August 16th, the community celebrates the third anniversary of the death of Frère Roger, killed by a deranged young woman from Romania. In May this year in Iasi, Frère Alois met Luminita Solcan’s mother to "express his affection". Then, in the evening in the cathedral of Iasi, he had repeated the prayer he had said during frère Roger’s funeral service: "God of goodness, we entrust to your forgiveness Luminita Solcan who, in a sick deed, put an end to the life of our brother Roger. Along with Christ on the Cross, we say: Father, forgive her, she does not known what she has done. Holy Spirit, we pray you for the people of Romania and for the young Rumanians that are so dear to Taizé".
